And we're back!

We are getting right back to the grind right now as if we never left for our restful break. For some reason all the children seem so much taller and more mature after the break. We have had fewer tears than before the holiday and much more independent behaviour. You should see how quickly your kids get undressed from outside right now. For real, it's under 10 minutes, especially now that their shoes are out of their bags. It's all about self-help and making that as easy as we can. Great job to you mums and dads for all the hard work you did last week!

Have a look at all the fun things we've been doing and it's only just Wednesday!

So there's good news and bad news...

The good news is that it's getting warmer and your children are having a ball in our backyard. The bad news is that you may be doing a few extra loads of laundry. When our yard starts to thaw, we end up with a soupy mess. The puddles are plentiful and deep and also have and have some sort of kid magnet at the bottom. If we have any scientist parents, I'm sure they can confirm this. Mud and sand are a reality that comes with the warmer weather. Please bear with us as we do our best to temper our philosophy of emergent curriculum with our motherly need to keep everybody warm and dry.

All that to say that we may be sending your little loves home with wet winter gear until, say... May? But know they are having a blast exploring the science of liquid displacement, conservation of matter, melting points and the exact saturation point at which outerwear becomes so soaked that innerwear also needs to get changed. Can't get mad at science...
